my way adec dvdAction on Disability within Ethnic Communities Inc. (ADEC) is a state-wide organisation that strives to empower people with a disability from Non-English speaking backgrounds, their carers, and families to fully participate as members of the Victorian community.

ADEC has produced a 30 minute documentary telling the stories from five very unique individuals from different cultures.

These people all have different disabilities, and they simply got on with their lives, overcoming the most incredible challenges, way before government or society finally came to the realisation that people with a disability had the right and ability to make their own decisions and take charge of their lives.

Meet Effie Meehan, Christian Astourian, Alex Litsoudis, Janet Curtain and Christine Williams:  all very remarkable, real people with great insight into the journey of their lives.  The people in the DVD are leaders in their own right and ADEC is convinced that this DVD will prove inspirational to people with disability and their families.

The full length DVD is able to switch to different languages:  English, Vietnamese, Sudanese, Arabic, Somali, Cantonese and Mandarin, as well as audio description for the Vision impaired.  Each language contains written sub-titles for people with hearing impairment.
