If you think a decision the NDIA has made about your NDIS plan is wrong, you can request a review.  Any person directly affected by a decision of the NDIA can also request a review.

ADEC NDIS Appeals is a service that helps people with a disability (or people affected by a NDIA decision) who are not happy with their NDIS plan.

ADEC will assign you an Appeals Officer who will help you approach the NDIA to review your plan.

If you are still not happy after the NDIA reviews your plan, your Appeals Officer can assist you to apply for an Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) review. The AAT is an external independent tribunal.

You cannot ask the AAT to review a NDIA decision until the NDIA has reviewed it.

The ADEC Appeals Team understands the challenges facing people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and ensures that the support provided takes into account these challenges.  AT ADEC, your human rights are respected and upheld.

Your ADEC Appeals Support Officer will:

  • Explain the NDIS review and appeal process
  • Provide you with information about your rights to seek a review
  • Help you prepare the required documents, including application for Legal Aid if needed
  • Help you to submit applications for a review with the NDIA and AAT.
  • Guide you through the review process with the NDIA
  • Guide you through the appeals process with the AAT
  • Attend AAT conferences and hearings with you
  • Help you to appeal on your own

 This service is free.

Interpreters can be arranged free of charge.
