For over 25 years ADEC has promoted the provision of culturally relevant services within disability, aged care and primary health services. ADEC will plan and deliver training in cultural awareness and cultural competence that will meet the needs of individual agencies.

Cultural awareness training encourages participants to examine their own cultures, their reactions to interacting with people from other cultures, and the impact of culture on communication. Barriers to access of services for people from ethnic communities are identified and discussed.
