Child's Play

Child’s Play is language-specific playgroups for very young children with autism spectrum disorder and / or developmental delay.

Aim of the Program:

  1. To create opportunities for parents and family members to become better informed about autism spectrum disorder and developmental delay in their child so they can make informed decisions about options for their child;
  2. For parents and carers to learn to manage children’s behaviour through the mechanism of play;
  3. For parents and carers to view play as an important component of their child’s development;
  4. To provide parents and carers opportunities to become integrated into other support services and the general community
  5. Create enduring linkages to
    • Government policy; and
    • Established universal service systems

Who is Eligible?

  • Children between the ages 0-6 years old who have been diagnosed (or symptoms are found) with Autism Spectrum Disorder or Developmental Delay
  • Families with specific cultural background

Northern Region

Turkish Speaking Child’s Play Group:

This playgroup is supported by Playgroup Victoria and funded by the Australian Government through the Department of Family Community Services and Indigenous Affairs. Venue is supported by Yooralla.

Southern Region

Afghan Speaking Child’s Play Group

Facilitator: Mrs. Shaima Shahbaz

This playgroup is funded by the City of Casey Council under their Best Start program.
