Target Group

Those looking to strengthen their communication and collaboration skills and work confidently with interpreters & clients from CALD communities.

Course Outline

Interpreting is the action of transferring the spoken word from one language to another. This workshop is designed to assist particpants to develop their skills to identify when, how and why to utilise the services of an interpreter.

You will learn the appropriate use of bilingual staff with no formal training in the second language, bilingual staff with training in a second language, use of Telephone Interpreting Service and use of professional interpreters.

Participants will develop the skills to utilise professional interpreters to enhance their communication with people from a CALD background.
