Examples of HACC Plans
A ‘Diversity in Practice Forum: Culturally Responsive Initiatives within HACC’ was held in August 2006 at the Global Learning Centre Broadmeadows. The forum showcased five HACC providers from the North and West region working in diverse areas. Providers shared their cultural planning initiatives and discussed issues around the successful implementation of policies and practices. The forum was an opportunity for HACC agencies to learn of different strategies in working with culturally and linguistically diverse communities and intended to assist agencies to begin their Cultural Action Planning for 2006-07 through sharing ideas.
In addition a number of 2005-6 HACC cultural action plans were placed on the web below with the permission of HACC agencies and DHS. These are intended to provide other HACC services with examples of diverse practice bearing in mind however there are no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ plans, rather plans suitable for particular communities, agencies and service types.
